Funny Things for You

Back at work, and I was able to start my day with something funny.

My students are reading Antigone, and there was a line in there that mentioned "beasts of prey." And my kid, who was up in front of the class, reading the lines and doing his best to act for the class, accidentally said...
breasts of prey
And the class disintegrated into chaos!

If that's not enough funny for you, then just click here.

LOL. I remember when someone was reading an advice column about roommate squabbles. A line read, "If your roommate isn't furtive . . ." The kid read this as, "If your roommate isn't fertile . . ." Chaos, indeed.

Sorry to post this here, but I couldn't find an email link....

I came over from your comment on The Spectacle and wanted to tell you about an awesome activity that I did with The Giver. I taught it for three years and had the same results each time... amazing. Even got a kudos note from the principal!

I started to type it here, but it got too long. Email me (cheryltasses [@} gmail.com) or thru my blog link if you're interested :-)

Kids make the best mistakes. There's a lot of humor in the class room. No one can tell me any different. It may not be intensional, but it's there all the same.

Miss teaching, especially the students.. :) College students just don't laugh like the younger ones especially about body parts. Love it. :)

Combine Antigone with Breasts of Prey, and you've got yourself a great YA novel!
